We are recruiting a Parenting Practitioner at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2027
Location: Tredomen / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

We pay an attractive salary of £31,537 - £34,434 and offer access to training and development opportunities.The role involves working in partnership with children and families to undertake assessments and provide bespoke parenting support. The support packages will be tailored to different levels of need and to promote and provide training on the Children Wales Act 2020.
The key responsibility for the post holder is to work with parents/carer's including those under 18 who have agreed to engage in tailored one to one parenting support, including as part of an Out of Court Disposal (OOCD). This post is directly linked to the abolishment of physical chastisement of children.
The role further involves liaison with the police and other agencies to ensure that outcomes are achieved for children and their families.

For the role, we ask that you have: - A Relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example in Education, Health, Social Care, Community Development.
- Understanding of parents/carers needs and requirements for additional support.
- Skilled in making sessions an inclusive experience, communicating in a way to avoid stigmatising, blaming, or discouraging parents/carers and families.
- Prepared to work flexible hours, within and beyond the boundaries of the authority, which may include evenings.
- Full UK Category B (cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
