Job description
Work base: Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay / Hybrid
We are inviting applications for the position of Monitoring Officer, available as a secondment opportunity or fixed-term appointment to commence from 1st January 2026 for a period of 6 months. This role is open to internal and external applicants.
The successful candidate will join the Conwy Quality Standards Service, with responsibility for monitoring external commissioned services, including Residential and Nursing Care Settings, Domiciliary Care Agencies, 24 Hour Supported Living Projects and Adult Placement/Shared Lives.
A key part of the role is undertaking monitoring visits to external establishments, producing quality reports based on observations and the standards being achieved, a key aspect of the role is ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable people.
You should ideally have previously worked in the care sector with experience and understanding of the foundations of care and care delivery. You must have knowledge of current legislation and regulations in relation to care and care provisions. You must understand and be able to demonstrate the importance of good quality care and the inclusion of the voice of the individual.
The ability to carry out duties outside of normal working hours is required.
Due to the nature of the role, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
