Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the management of allegations against professionals and volunteers working with children, in line with Working Together to Safeguard People and Working Together to Safeguard Children. - Provide expert advice and guidance to employers, partner agencies, and internal colleagues on managing concerns about adults who work with children and, where relevant, adults at risk. - Chair and coordinate multi-agency strategy meetings and contribute to safeguarding case conferences. - Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting to the Regional Safeguarding Board and Welsh Government as required. - Support the development and implementation of safeguarding policies, procedures, and training across the workforce.
What We’re Looking For
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (Wales). - Proven experience in managing complex safeguarding concerns, particularly those involving professionals or volunteers in positions of trust. - Strong interpersonal, communication, and multi-agency coordination skills. - A commitment to promoting the safety, rights, and well-being of children and adults at risk.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a dynamic, multi-agency safeguarding team making a real difference in the lives of children and adults in Newport. - Access to continuous professional development, reflective supervision, and leadership opportunities. - Work in a supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment that values innovation and best practice.
