You will be working within the Torfaen Works Employability Team and assist with compliance and finance requirements across all projects currently being delivered under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Welsh Government Funded - Communities for Work Plus.
Your role will be to support the Finance officer in recording, monitoring and reporting SPF and CFW+ project activities, costs and preparing claims for projects.
You will be expected to work closely with colleagues within the Torfaen Works team and across the other SPF project delivery teams to check information for accuracy, record it on project systems and make compliance-related decisions based on funders' guidance. The role will cover a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to, review and verify accuracy of staff timesheets, updating financial documents and checking project enrolment forms for people participating in project activity.
You will also assist in providing audit evidence for claims, raising purchase orders and other general office duties.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-funded team covering numerous tasks that are crucial in ensuring multiple teams across the Adults & Communities directorate are able to effectively meet the needs of participants whilst meeting funders' requirements.
Welsh Language Skills are desirable for this post but not essential.Qualifications \/ Knowledge \/ Experience:Essential- A good standard of education, particularly in English and Maths
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, with particular expertise in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
- Good organisational skills
Desirable- Experience of finance and recording or monitoring systems and processes
- Awareness of data protection regulations
- Awareness of audit processes and practices
