The Direct Payments Team are seeking to recruit to the post of an Independent Living Advisor. The team is newly formed so this is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to be to be part of the development and design of the team. The Independent Living advisor offers information and advice to citizens who are considering a direct payment to commission their own care as outlined within their individual care and support plan. The role involves supporting citizens to effectively manage their direct payment appropriately.

The post holder will have responsibility for:
• Supporting individuals in all aspects of setting up and running their Direct Payment.
• Provide a bespoke service to each individual.
• Work as a team to ensure relevant support is provided to individuals and staff.
• Ensuring integrity and accuracy of data on Direct Payment and WCBC systems.
• The role is responsible for the effective delivery of service outcomes in line with service criteria and performance indicators.

The service supports individuals in receipt of Direct Payments across both adults and children's services. Previous experience of working with or personal experience of supporting vulnerable people/ families would be an advantage for this role.

An enhanced DBS is required for this position.
