About us... We provide a high standard quality of care for up to 20 individuals with a diagnosis of dementia and general residential. We support our residents to maintain skills and encourage independence and always promote dignity and privacy. We respect people's choices and engage individuals in activities and social outings.
As we are a regulated service our focus is on encouraging individuals care needs and for plans to be outcome based.
The role... We are interested in hearing from people who are reliable, have excellent communication skills and work well with others to work within our social care workforce. Duties will include working as part of the kitchen team, cooking and kitchen domestic responsibilities are shared on a rota basis alongside 2 other cooks/ kitchen assistants, preparing food to meet the dietary requirements in Individuals in line with their care plan, ordering of stock, stock rotation, general kitchen duties, completion of task rotas and completion of the Safer Food Better Business Handbook.
The role is 7 hours a day (7:30am-3pm cook and 8:30am-4pm kitchen domestic); over a 5-day week which includes weekends and bank holidays, for which additional payments are made. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and may be required to work alternative hours to support the needs of our home.
Candidates for the post will have a positive outlook and understanding of the needs of older people. Previous experience of working in a kitchen environment and working with or spending time with an older person or person with a disability would be an advantage. The successful candidates will be supported to complete the All-Wales Induction Framework (AWIF), a programme designed to prepare you for your new role, job specific training and will need to complete a food safety certificate.
