Job description
JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the Manager in the day-to-day operation, management and administration of the service, ensuring that an effective and high quality service is
delivered to individuals, their carers and families.
To assist in the co-ordination, supervision and support of the staff team, ensuring that the service is carried out in accordance with the organisations policies, procedures, all regulatory requirements and the CIW Statutory Guidance.
To work as part of the Liberty House staff team providing care and support for individual’s with (or recovering from) mental health needs. The role requires a commitment to enabling individual’s to maintain and develop skills, providing support that is personalised to meet individual needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:-
• Deputise for the Manager as required • Participate in the Liberty House on-call system • Ensure that individuals are encouraged and empowered to express their views and opinion in all areas of decision making • Ensure regular personal planning and reviews are carried out for all individuals • Provide support with all aspects of daily living which may include; household and domestic tasks, shopping and diet/food preparation, personal hygiene, dressing and personal appearance • Actively pursue, promote and encourage individuals participation in meaningful engagement and activities • Fully understand and observe all matters concerning individuals and staff ensuring that confidentiality and codes of conduct are adhered to at all times • Assist in maintaining accurate records e.g. individuals’ personal records, house records, communication books, diaries, food etc • Manage the petty cash and Shop, Cook and Serve (SCS) systems, budgets and records • Assist in the monthly medication ordering and checking • Manage the weekly medication replenishment • Act as Key Worker for individuals as agreed with the Manager • Liaise with families, staff and relevant services to maintain a high standard of support and provision of a quality service • Participate in supervision sessions and staff development opportunities as required and actively engage in any training in order to maintain your own professional development and enhance competency within your role • Be familiar with Health and Safety at Work Regulations and ensure effective implementation whilst in work • Have an awareness, understanding and commitment to Liberty Placements’ operational policies and procedures • Contribute to the recruitment, appointment and induction of staff • Promote and support effective team working through good communication
GENERAL DUTIES
To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities and the personal Health and Safety responsibilities within the HASAWA 1974.
To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with Equal Opportunities legislation and Best Practice.
DEVELOPMENTAL EXPECTATIONS
This should be seen as a development opportunity, to becoming a Manager (registered with Social Care Wales)
Therefore, in addition to continuing personal development, statutory and mandatory training, the post holder will be expected to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults’ Residential Management) Wales and Northern Ireland.
