Qualifications and relevant training Essential QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care - or equivalent (or committed to completing the qualification in 12 months)
Valid driving licence

Job Description
Purpose of the post • Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
• Promoting health and well-being by supporting employment opportunities for adults with a learning disability.
• Supporting the Leader in running and developing the services at Glynllifon and at the Hwb café..
• The post will play a key role in ensuring that projects within the service run smoothly with staff and individuals to carry out the work.
• Supporting the leader to work with a Person Centred, Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support ethos
• An important aspect of the role is to support the development of Work Opportunities project by supporting individuals and employers and making the best use of the facilities available.
• The post holder will be required to identify new opportunities, and support with effective marketing, networking and finding innovative solutions.
• By working closely with the Learning Disability Team, other Council departments, statutory, voluntary and commercial sector organisations, ensure that the project is a vibrant resource, working for the benefit of local residents and organisations.
Responsibility for functions • Equipment - Order, maintain and safely use equipment as appropriate. This may include hand tools.
• Sharing responsibility for building and vehicles.
• Finance - sharing responsibility for service funding
• Staff - Sharing responsibility for staff, including supervision and sickness arrangements
Main duties Teamwork
• To network effectively in the local area to ensure that the Project's services, activities and events do not duplicate unnecessarily or compete against existing services in the community.
• Be able to manage, and delegate to the team of support workers/job mentors at Glynllifon and the Hub in the absence of the leader.
• Monitor and report on individuals' development and progress by providing short and concise reports, participating in review meetings, identifying service deficiencies so that the training programme can be strengthened and developed
• Support the Leader and be able to delegate the preparation and running of the project and site on a daily basis. Work with the leader to plan ahead, make decisions and develop the services.
• Willingness to attend training as appropriate and look for suitable training for staff to attend.
• Self-management - setting an example by being proactive, honest and consistent and by taking responsibility for what you do. Ensure compliance with professional standards.
• Attend and participate and lead on team meetings, develop good and positive relationships with the whole team.
• Ensure that the administration of the service is orderly and up-to-date.
• Develop, monitor and review the service on an ongoing basis.
• Deal, jointly, and disciplinary matters in consultation with a personnel officer.
Protect
• Be aware of the vulnerability of the people you work with and be aware of the potential for abuse.
• Use local and national policies to identify, record, report and participate in safeguarding protocols and ensure that all staff and volunteers are aware of the procedures to follow.
• Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.

• Ensure that the dignity and independence of individuals is respected through good care practices. Be sensitive to the need to respect the rights of the individual at all times.
• Be proactive to ensure that people have access to the most suitable activities and programmes through Delivery opportunities and externally.

• Supporting people to think, plan and achieve work objectives and develop their roles in their plans (Person-centred Plan)

• Ensure the overall wellbeing and safety of all service users by continuously assessing any risks.
• Ensure personal and staff compliance with Health and Safety at work rules in accordance with the responsibilities set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
Other Responsibilities
• Maintain confidentiality on all aspects of the operation of the service.
• Managing information in accordance with the Council's information management standards and guidance
• Register with the Care Council in accordance with national guidance (if required)
• Undertake the task of receiving and dispensing medicine in accordance with Council policy (if required)
• To lead together to ensure that the team works for Ffordd Gwynedd and to promote and encourage the wellbeing of staff.
• Support the Leader to ensure consistent and timely supervision/evaluations
• Responsibility for self-development.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
• Operate within the Council's policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
