THE ROLE:
As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will lead the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support and other person-centred practices within our services. You will also be leading with organisational support tasks, positive monitoring, collaboration with the Support Team, behavioural data analysis, and direct engagement with individuals to enhance their quality of life. This role will play a central role in ensuring that support strategies are effectively coordinated, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual’s needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals is monitored and maintained. Lead the assessment, development, implementation, and review of PBS plans. Conduct behavioural reviews and identify triggers and proactive strategies. Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to staff. Monitor staff competencies and follow up post-training. Support care home managers in developing and reviewing care plans. Undertake clinical reviews, risk assessments, and care audits. Liaise with families, advocates, and external professionals to advocate for individuals. Participate in the referral and admission process. Deputize for care managers and act as the nominated person in emergencies. Ensure compliance with RISCA regulations and contribute to internal audits. Stay up to date with sector developments and contribute to policy updates. Promote independence, equality, diversity, and dignity for individuals. Support individuals in a way that respects their dignity and confidentiality. Work flexibly, including out-of-hours duties as needed. Deliver training sessions Analyse data to prepare RI and CIW reports. Attend meetings with external professionals i.e. MDTs. Lead on carrying out assessments for new referrals, care proposal submissions and transition planning. Mitigate risk of placement breakdown.
