In this role you will:
- Provide shift leadership and support staff on duty
- Act as a role model for person centred and outcome focused practice
- Coordinate shifts, delegate tasks, and support problem solving
- Ensure care and support plans and risk assessments are followed in practice
- Promote dignity, choice, and positive risk taking
- Support safe medication practice in line with BCBC policy
- Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in need
- Work closely with families, carers, and professionals
- Support new staff and learning on shift
- Escalate concerns to the Team Leader or Registered Manager as required
What we are looking for:
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Experience working in a regulated care setting
- Confidence supporting and guiding staff on shift
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Understanding of safeguarding, MCA, and risk management
- Commitment to person centred support
- Registration with Social Care Wales, or willingness to register
What we offer:
- Temporary development opportunity within Breakaway
- Support from the Registered Manager and wider management team
- Opportunity to build leadership experience in a CIW regulated service
- Access to training and development linked to the role
- Staff wellbeing and occupational health support
