About the Role Social Worker - Adoption Support Services Advisor - ASSA
Location: Hybrid (working across all 6 North Wales Local Authorities)
Contract Type: - 2.5 days / 18.5 h/week - flexible / 3years The Adoption Service is a highly successful and innovative service providing quality services to children requiring adoptive placements.
This is an exciting time to join the North Wales Adoption Service as we are in the process of expanding and developing the range of services we provide to adoptive families.
Currently we have one part-time Adoption Support Services Advisor vacancy to be based in Wrexham.
We are keen to receive applications from experienced registered social workers who have experience of working in the field of adoption. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing adoption support arrangements to include; undertaking detailed adoption support assessments for adoption children and young people to identify their adoption support needs, liaising with other local authorities and adoption support agencies to ensure appropriate provision of support services and to ensure continuity of services for families moving area; information and advice to adoptive families; offering specialist advice and support to childcare social workers developing post adoption support plans, and ensuring that all plans meet quality standards. The role also includes responsibility for reviewing adoption support plans following the making of the adoption order.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality post adoption social work in line with statute, regulation and guidance.
A social work qualification and experience of working in the field of adoption are essential and the ability to work across the North Wales Region in line with service demands.
