Cardiff, as Wales’ Capital and largest Local Authority, supports around 1,200 people with a wide range of care and support needs to live well and achieve their outcomes.
Our Learning Disabilities teams provide advice, information and support to adults with learning disabilities and their carers, working closely with multi-disciplinary partners.
The Learning Disability Supported Living Team oversees Supported Living and Shared Lives contracts, working with providers, housing partners, commissioners, social workers and health colleagues to deliver high-quality accommodation.

About the job
An opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff’s Learning Disability Service as a Supported Living Project Manager on a temporary basis.
The post will lead and coordinate accommodation projects for adults with learning disabilities, including supported living, Shared Lives and other housing options that promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
You will identify accommodation needs, develop housing solutions, oversee move planning, and support Cardiff Council’s Learning Disability and “Closer to Home” objectives.
Working with individuals, families, social workers, health professionals, housing colleagues, providers and commissioners, you will ensure accommodation arrangements are person-centred, timely and sustainable.
You will coordinate project meetings, develop project plans, track progress, manage risks, oversee referrals and matching, and produce clear reports, minutes and project documentation.
We are looking for a confident, organised practitioner with strong project coordination skills and a commitment to improving outcomes.

What We Are Looking For From You
You will have a good level of education and at least two years’ experience in a development field. A higher education, project management or development qualification is desirable.
You will understand social housing development, accommodation planning, supported living and the needs of adults with learning disabilities.
You will have strong communication skills, experience working with a range of stakeholders, and confidence in arranging, chairing and coordinating meetings.
You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage competing demands, meet deadlines, and produce clear records and reports.
You will be respectful, approachable and reliable, with values that support equality, partnership working, confidentiality and person-centred practice.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
