Post No. SSAC0111.6 - Social Worker - Adult Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Social Worker to join Newport's Adult Services team. This is a rare chance to become part of a forward-thinking and supportive service that works with adults aged 18 and over, helping them to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
At the heart of our practice is a commitment to the principles of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. We are passionate about putting citizens at the centre of everything we do, empowering people to maintain their independence, build on their strengths, and stay connected to their communities.
As part of our team, you will work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, health colleagues, and a wide range of community partners to deliver person-centred, strengths-based support. You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing through early intervention, prevention, and the provision of Information, Advice and Assistance, helping people find the right solutions at the right time.
We are proud of our strong partnerships across health and social care and our commitment to developing innovative approaches that improve outcomes for the people of Newport. Our practice is outcome-focused, enabling individuals to identify and achieve their personal goals, with a clear emphasis on understanding and capturing what matters to them.
We are looking for someone who can work confidently in a busy and high-pressure environment, build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and high-quality practice. If you are passionate about making a positive difference and delivering excellent outcomes for adults and their families and carers, we would welcome your application.
At Newport City Council, we are committed to supporting flexible working where possible. Although this post is full-time, applications from candidates considering part-time as part of a job-share arrangement are welcomed and will be considered.
