You will play a vital role in assessing needs, developing effective care plans and coordinating support packages that promote wellbeing, independence and family resilience.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will undertake a range of social work responsibilities, including completing assessments, managing a caseload and contributing to care planning for children and families. You will work with children in need, children subject to child protection procedures and children who are looked after, ensuring statutory duties are fulfilled to the highest professional standards.
Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will work closely with colleagues across education, health, Children's Social Care and Adult Social Care, helping to ensure that children’s safeguarding, health, care and transition needs are fully understood and effectively met.
We are looking for a qualified and registered Social Worker who is committed to delivering person-centred support and building positive relationships with children, families, carers and partner agencies. You will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, together with excellent communication, organisational and assessment skills.
Experience of working with children and young people with physical and/or sensory disabilities would be an advantage, although we also welcome candidates who are eager to further develop their expertise in this specialist area.

Relocation packages are available for social workers.
The purpose of the Relocation Assistance Scheme is to provide financial assistance to new employees of Pembrokeshire County Council to offset certain costs incurred in relocating their main residence to Pembrokeshire, subject to conditions that can be discussed after the role has been secured.
Financial assistance can be available to reimburse approved expenditure up to a total maximum, not exceeding £8,000. The total is deemed to be inclusive of any VAT paid by employees to suppliers as part of the relocation process. All claims must be supported by documentary evidence that expenditure has actually been incurred e.g. paid invoices or receipts.
This would be something you could discuss with the HR employee advisor, if offered the role.
