With effect from the 1st April 2021 this post attracts a market supplement of £3000 per annum full time equivalent. This payment is reviewed on a 12 monthly basis. A further AMHP allowance of £2800 will be paid in addition to the salary and market supplement, if applicable.
We are seeking a registered Social Worker to join our integrated multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health team in Pentwyn Community Mental Health team, Pentwyn, Cardiff. The team is situated in Northeast Cardiff and is a small, supportive team dealing with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, their carers and families.
About the job
You will need to have a Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
A comprehensive understanding of the relevant legislation is essential along with experience of working with people with mental health difficulties.
Previous experience of working within a mental health setting is preferable but not essential.
Ideally you will be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for which an AMHP payment is applicable or willing to undertake training for the AMHP role as part of your continuing professional development.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will be confident at assessing the needs of citizens and their carers and be familiar with the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
You will also be able to undertake risk assessments and develop associated care plans and risk management plans.
You should be prepared to undertake appropriate training and be able to work under pressure.
A full valid driving licence and the use of a car during working hours are required.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week.
