Overall job purpose
To lead and coordinate the local authority’s education offer for vulnerable learners—including Children Looked After (CLA), Care Experienced Children, formerly looked after, Young Carers, Elective Home Education (EHE) where applicable, Gypsy/Roma/Traveller (GRT), learners with English/Welsh as an Additional Language
(EAL/WAL), refugees and asylum‑seeking children, and other at‑risk groups—so they attend, engage, achieve, and progress in learning.
To act as the local authority’s statutory education lead for Looked After Children, (Known in Ynys Mon as the Integrated Education Services/Virtual School) ensuring compliance with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, corporate parenting duties, and all associated requirements for the oversight and quality of
