We are looking for a caring, patient, and fun Personal Assistant to support our son.
- 4 hours every other weekend (flexible)
- Occasional evenings
- 1 overnight shift per month
Our son is 15 years old and autistic. He is non-verbal and requires support with personal care, but please don’t let that put you off — he is an absolute joy to be around! He has a wicked sense of humour, a very sweet nature, and communicates using visual prompts and sign language.
He can be noise sensitive but loves music. His favourite activities include:
- Driving trips out and about
- Horse riding
- Swimming
- Colouring (especially with blue and red!)
- Enjoying a sweet treat
He loves getting out into the community, so we are looking for someone energetic and proactive who will help him explore and have fun.
The ideal candidate will be patient and understanding, a good communicator, Fun, positive and engaging, Comfortable supporting with personal care and reliable and flexible.
Experience with autism or special educational needs is desirable but not essential — the right attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
