About the Role
for the North Wales Adoption Service
Location: Hybrid (working across all 6 North Wales Local Authorities)
Contract Type: Part-time – 3 days/ 22.5 h/ week – flexible /permanent position
This is a rewarding role which the candidate needs to have a good understanding of working with children looked after and prospective adopters. The role will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary professionals who work in the North Wales Adoption Service and directly with prospective adopters supporting them to learn more about adoption, start thinking about the benefits and the challenges involved and to decide whether adoption is right for them.
You need relevant qualifications either QCF or NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (Child Care) or other relevant Child Care qualifications, good IT skills, clear DBS, valid driving licence. A car with full business and comprehensive insurance is also a requirement for this position.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential.
Working Hours: core hours are 9 am to 5 pm however there will be occasions where flexible working will be required to meet the needs and demands of the service.
The team is very supportive - has a service manager, four operational managers, social workers, training officer, therapeutic family support workers and business administrators. We take a multi-disciplinary approach alongside our colleagues in the 6 local authorities including colleagues in health and education in supporting adoptive children and families across North Wales.
