Work base: Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Individual to join Conwy County Borough Council's Quality Standards Team within Integrated Adult and Community Services.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care services across Conwy. The role plays a vital part in monitoring, supporting, and working collaboratively with a diverse range of commissioned care providers, including Residential and Nursing Homes, Domiciliary Care Agencies, 24/7 Supported Living Services, and Shared Lives/Adult Placement Schemes. Through effective quality assurance, performance monitoring, and partnership working, you will help ensure that services meet regulatory requirements, deliver positive outcomes, and continuously improve for the individuals and communities they support.
You will undertake monitoring visits, quality audits, and service reviews across Conwy's commissioned care services, ensuring that providers deliver safe, effective, and person-centred support. By engaging with individuals who use services, their families and service providers, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, identifying and promoting good practice, and supporting providers to maintain and enhance standards of care.
We are seeking an individual with experience in Health and Social Care, a great understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, and a strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, and have the confidence and professional judgement to provide both constructive challenge and practical support, helping providers identify areas for improvement and achieve positive outcomes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build effective working relationships with service users, families, providers, and partner agencies. You will also possess strong analytical and report-writing skills, enabling you to evaluate evidence, identify trends and risks, produce clear and accurate reports, and make informed recommendations that support continuous service improvement. In return, you will join a supportive and experienced team committed to promoting quality, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for people who rely on care and support services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping to ensure that vulnerable adults receive safe, effective, and person-centred care while contributing to the continuous improvement of commissioned services across Conwy.
The role requires travel throughout Conwy County and on occasion across North Wales to attend meetings, undertake visits to commissioned services and visit a range of care settings. This may involve working outside normal office hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, in line with service requirements.
Due to the nature of the work a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
