THE TEAM
You’ll join our Care and Support Provision team, a group of dedicated professionals who deliver high-quality care across Newport’s adult residential homes and short break services. We work together to create safe, supportive environments where residents can live with dignity and independence.
As part of the Mobile Team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining continuity and standards across all four homes. You’ll collaborate with managers, care staff, and health professionals to ensure services run smoothly, especially during periods of absence or increased demand.
YOUR NEW ROLE
Your role is to help manage and co-ordinate services, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care that meets regulatory standards. You’ll take charge of a service when required and work flexibly across 4 Residential Homes to support the Residential Homes Managers in maintaining and motivating compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales and Social Care Wales requirements. It is a truly flexible and varied role that will see you working a shift pattern covering five out of seven days, including weekends and bank holidays (between 06:45 am and 10:15 pm)
This is a dynamic role that offers variety and the chance to build strong relationships across different teams. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues and have access to ongoing training and development to help you grow in your leadership career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and motivate staff to deliver excellent care
- Ensure compliance with regulations and Council policies
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and care planning
- Manage medication systems and support menu planning
- Build strong relationships with health professionals, families, and advocates
- Support recruitment, training, and staff development
- Assist with rotas, budgets, and resource management
- Take responsibility for service operations when required
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Residential Management) or equivalent
- Is registered with Social Care Wales
- Has experience in managing or supervising in a care setting
- Understands safeguarding and key social care legislation
- Can lead teams, manage competing demands, and communicate effectively
- Is flexible, reliable, and able to travel across all four homes
