The Employment Specialist role works directly with participants to support their development and progression into employment and provides support to help them remain and develop in the workplace where needed. They offer one-to-one coaching, support with identifying the right job roles and employers, support to gain new qualifications if needed and provide in work support or job coaching to help them learn a new role and gain confidence to maintain work. The employment specialist also works directly with local employers to support them to recruit the right people for their business, looking at alternative recruitment methods such as working interviews, job carving and shaping to support the recruitment and retention of staff in their business getting the right person for the right role. You will be supporting employers to see the real benefits of a more inclusive and diverse workforce. If you have experience of supporting people with barriers to working such as disabilities, learning disabilities and or autism, mental health conditions and/or have experience working with businesses or in a training role this could be an opportunity for you.
We are particularly interested in people with experience of delivering Individual Placement Support (IPS). You will need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a positive attitude towards progression and removal of barriers to work. Believing in what people can do and supporting them to achieve this.
This post is fixed term for 12 months.
