This is a fantastic development opportunity to join the Deputy’s Unit as a Deputy’s Manager on a fixed term basis with a view towards full time permanency following review.
This post manages and forms an essential part of service delivery to clients who are mentally incapable of managing their own financial affairs, working towards the overall aims of The Wales Safeguarding Procedures and within the Best Practice Guidelines of the Mental Capacity act.
You will manage a team who act under a Court of Protection Order for clients, ensuring they receive their full entitlement to benefits and that suitable accounts are operated and savings levels are monitored effectively. The responsibility involves making collaborative and singular decisions on a daily basis that affect client’s standard of living.
You will have a relevant degree or equivalent discipline, have an ability to work within financial guidelines and audit procedures, experience of claiming benefits on behalf of others and of liaising with creditors, debtors and other external agencies. The ability to absorb legislative changes and implement the resulting adaptations to working practices, including providing training for other staff members, is also considered essential.
Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to obtain a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
