Day Services Assistant
30 hours per week
Dan Y Mynydd Day Centre, Bronwydd Avenue, Porth, CF39 9AQ
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at our new day service which is based in the newly built Dan Y Mynydd Extracare complex in Porth. The scheme provides daytime opportunities for people to live active and independent lives.
Dan Y Mynydd provides support to individuals who continue to live in their own homes. It provides a service to individuals who are elderly and frail. The aim is to enable people to remain at home for as long as possible by providing stimulation, emotional support and social interaction.
A dedicated staff team provide a range of activities which are based on an individual’s needs and preferences.
The service focuses on providing a high standard of service to individuals using the centre and ensuring that services are outcome focused. The staff will contribute to providing a range of opportunities in order to enhance the independence of individuals attending.
Experience of working within a formal care setting or as an informal carer would be an advantage though is not essential.
The successful candidate will provide support to individuals attending the centre. They will be expected to complete reviews and undertake a key worker role.
Applicants will be required to achieve a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification within the first two years of employment if they do not already possess this qualification.
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Adult DBS check, including Barred List at 3 yearly intervals.
