An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our Finance Services Team in Adults, Housing and Communities

About the job

The role will be based in Adult Services Finance Team, within Finance Services, working closely with all parts of the finance team, this will include the Residential and Nursing Team, Domiciliary Team, Invoice Team, Financial Assessment Team, Invoice Team, Direct Payment Team and Brokerage Teams. We are responsible for the placement of care packages for Domiciliary Care and Residential and Nursing Care, we pay all care providers who deliver care on our behalf.  We contract with these providers.  We also charge service users for their contribution to care charges, which includes a financial means assessment.  We are a busy team. You will need to be a strong communicator with analytical skills and be able to liaise and work, help and support all the managers in the team and the staff and provide support to the Finance Manager.

We currently operate a hybrid working model from County Hall in Cardiff Bay and spend a day or two per week in the office and the rest of the week working from home.  We have a flexible approach to this, each week can be different.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will perform a key role in coordinating and developing the finance team during a time of significant strategic change, so an ability to manage change in a positive way and be flexible are essential attributes required for this post. You must have worked in business support for 2 years, worked in a supervisory position for 1 year and had financial work and staff management experience. You must be able to produce clear written material and be an effective oral communicator, have experience and knowledge of information systems and the use of Information Technology in an office setting, demonstrate an ability to solve problems and be committed to meeting customer needs. It is essential that you are able to demonstrate a good understanding of promotion of effective teamwork; staff management and motivation; group work; service quality; and recruitment, selection and induction practices.
