Overall job purpose
Under the direction of the line manager, to provide a high-quality Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards assessment and advice all statutory requirements arising from the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
Hold individual responsibility for ensuring citizens, who lack the mental capacity to make decisions about where they live for the purpose of care and treatment and who may be deprived of their liberty, have the necessary safeguards in place to protect their human rights.
Ensure that arrangements made for these citizens, comply with best practice guidelines and legal requirements under statutory legislation.
To carry out Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) assessments in the community for authorisation by the Court of Protection.
Assist in raising awareness and providing training on DoLS issues.
