Assistant Team Manager - Looked After Children Team

For this post Wrexham Council offers a recruitment incentive payment of £3,300 gross. In certain circumstances, a further £3,300 retention payment may be awarded on the anniversary of your appointment if you remain in service in an eligible role/ team (*This is subject to normal employee deductions, pro-rata for part time hours, please see attached terms and conditions that apply).

Wrexham County Borough Council is looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Team Manager for our Looked After Children's Team. You will be one of two Assistant Team Managers, working closely with the Team Manager to deliver our vision for the looked after children of Wrexham and their carers.

In this role, you will help create an environment where children can build meaning relationships with adults who champion them throughout their childhood and beyond. You will play a vital role in ensuring that every child in our care receives the highest quality support, education, and advocacy.

To meet these objectives, we want someone who brings both experience and compassion - someone understands the unique needs of looked after children. You will ensure services are of a high quality and exceed national standards. You will need to work across services, the council and partners to maintain excellent practice and working relationships.

You will need to be experienced in working with looked after children, bring innovative ideas that will support your practitioners to provide the best possible service to the looked after children of Wrexham and their carers.

An Enhanced DBS check & Social Care Wales registration is required for this position.
