About us

Do you want to deliver services for children that are flexible, focused on need and readily available when families need them?

We are now seeking a Social Worker to with the expertise and skills to deliver great practice in our Family Support Team. You will help families in a purposeful way and manage risk confidently, working with families on a longer term plan. You will be involved in all aspects of work, including planning and review for children receiving care and support as well as those subject of a child protection plan, or until care proceedings conclude. Work in this team is about helping people work out what matters to them and then helping them achieve their goals.

This is an exciting time to join the Vale of Glamorgan Children and Young People Services as we have expanded our workforce to meet demand, and to ensure workloads are manageable so we can deliver meaningful, purposeful services.

To be successful in this role, you will:

About the role

Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26 – 30 £37,280 - £40,777 (pro rata). + £5000 enhancement/ Grade 9, SCP 31 – 35 £41,777 - £46,142 p.a (pro rata) + £5000 enhancement

Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9

Hours of Work: 37 hours / Full time (mutually beneficial work patterns can be agreed)

Main Place of Work: Docks Office, Barry
