Come and join our team We are a team dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people in the Carmarthenshire area. If you are a qualified Social Worker, this is an ideal opportunity to join a highly supportive division, and we would like to hear from you.
We are passionate about supporting children and their families, ensuring that our social workers are equipped with the support needed to be where they are needed most - with families not files. Becoming a social worker in Carmarthenshire means joining a service which has strong foundations, a stable management team and a dedicated workforce.
We are one of the few local authorities that have consistently reduced the number of looked after children within their county and we have done this through innovation in our social work teams and investment in preventative services as well as working to empower and support families to become more resilient.
As a newly qualified Social Worker, you will have the best start with dedicated support to grow into your social work career. We also recognise the immense value of experience and the complex work experienced Social Workers undertake. You will have the opportunity to progress in social work practice (outside of a management pathway) via our 'Experienced Practitioner Progression Framework'. Successful progression offers the higher range salary reward.
We currently have some permanent and temporary opportunities across a range of teams from front line assessment teams to dedicated long term teams and 0-25 (Disability) Team located across a beautiful rural area as well as in bustling town areas such as Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford.
We can offer you a comprehensive induction, regular professional supervision, hybrid and flexible working, and a supportive professional development programme. Children's Social Worker (gov.Wales)
