We are recruiting a Senior Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 37 hours (7.24 Monday to Friday)

Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across both the North and South Community Mental Health Teams.
We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.This post attracts a Market Supplement of £2,863 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.The Teams are co-located with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board colleagues at the North Integrated Health and Social Care Centre in Rhymney and Old School Building, Mill Road, Caerphilly and we work with service users aged 18 and over who have mental health needs.
The postholder would need to be dynamic and forward thinking and will be required to practice in accordance with National Occupational Standards for Social Work and Code of Practice for Social Care Workers to deliver assessment and care management services.
As a Senior Social Worker you will support the Team Managers to provide leadership and management to qualified social work staff, support workers and administrative staff deployed within the team. You will ensure staff provide the highest standards of professional support to service users and carers, colleagues and other professionals.
You will be expected to participate in the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) duty rota if you hold the relevant qualification and will support other AMHPs within the service to effectively undertake this challenging role.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- An approved Mental Health Professional Award.
- Knowledge of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, related Code of Practice and Secondary Legislation in Wales eg Mental Health (Wales) Measure.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings / visit clients at their home.
