This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Children's Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £20,755 - £22,355 and offer access to training and development opportunities.The Successful applicant will assist and support the Team Manager in mentoring and providing formal supervision for team members. You will assist other staff in developing and facilitating group work sessions and will be required to contribute to service developments.
You will need excellent assessment and analysis skills and the ability to engage and communicate effectively with Foster Carers their families and children who are looked after, with a focus on wellbeing, safety of children and be able to support and guide Foster Carers to build on their holistic skills as well as a commitment to improve outcomes for children and young people.
The Team has responsibility for recruiting, assessing, supporting, supervising and reviewing general foster carers, alongside completing Connected Persons Assessments of family members/connected persons for a child who cannot, or may not be able to remain with their birth family.
For the role, we ask that you have: - A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- Successfully completed the Consolidation of Practice Programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 April 2016).
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation and statutory regulations, research and practice in relation to the relevant service area.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
