We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join adult services Occupational Therapists as an Assistant. The Occupational Therapists work within multidisciplinary teams to support individuals gain the advice, information and intervention they need to maintain their independence and skills. Working proactively with individuals and their families to promote their choices and wishes to achieve positive outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarise yourself with the role of an Occupational Therapist, putting your theory into practice and dealing with the less complex but equally valuable referrals into the service.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated enthusiastic individual with some experience of working with adults with disabilities, either on clinical placements or a work environment. They should have excellent communication skills and be willing to learn and develop assessment and risk management skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a large team is a key factor. A knowledge of equipment and adaptations will be beneficial. The ability to travel around Torfaen in your own car is advantageous.
