About the rolePay Details: Youth & Community Support Worker Range - Pt12 £29,791 per annum (£15.44 per hour)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: This is a full-time position consisting of 37 hours per week, 52 weeks. The successful candidate will work the majority of their hours between 8:30am to 5pm, however evening work will be required and occasional weekend working. This will be undertaken flexibly through working hours.
Main Place of Work: Office based at the Civic Offices, Barry, but working throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.
Temporary Reason: Temporary until 31.03.26 due to grant funding
Description: The Youth Wellbeing Service is a Families First funded project and offers targeted support for young people in the Vale of Glamorgan who have faced adverse childhood experiences which are significantly affecting their social and emotional wellbeing. This service is managed by the Vale Youth Service and is situated in the Learning and Skills department.. In return the successful candidate will receive a generous annual leave entitlement, enrolment onto the Teachers' Pension Scheme, hybrid and flexible working, access to staff benefits and the opportunity to join groups such as GLAM LGBTQ+ network for colleagues and allies.
About youYou will need:
- Experience of face-to-face work with challenging young people.
- Experience of 1-1 support and working with families.
- Ability to relate to, supervise and form positive relationships with colleagues and young people.
- Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision.
