Job description

We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager at Glasallt Fawr
Glasallt Fawr provides support to young adults with learning disabilities to live an active and fulfilled lifestyle. We recognise the uniqueness of each resident and support them in a wide variety of activities including crafts and land based skills such as farming and gardening. We encourage independence within their home and provide support with everyday life skills such as cooking and cleaning. In addition to this our residents attend social events, participate in sports and outings in the surrounding community.
If you have experience in a Residential Social Care setting have at least level 3 QCF in care, and can work a flexible 37.5 hour week Monday to Sunday on a rota basis with some sleep nights, then you could be the person we are looking for.

Key duties of the role are:
Assist in the efficient and effective daily running of the house as a whole and take responsibility for overall management in the absence of the manager.
To assist with the responsibility of devising rota’s and ensuring that the home has adequate staff cover.
Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and development of the staff team, e.g., Appraisals, Supervisions, Return to Work Interviews etc.
Chair staff meetings in the absence of the Home Manager.
To take on responsibilities of on-call person, being supportive to staff accessing the on-call system,
Safe and effective decision making (in-house and on-call).
To ensure the safety of residents and promote their dignity and rights.
To support residents to engage with the wider community and access opportunities for development and leisure.
