We are looking for passionate and caring individuals to join our dedicated team of Care Workers in our large residential care home in Glynneath.
This is a flexible, permanent relief role.
This service needs to be staffed 24/7 so you will be required to work various shift patterns including days, evenings, weekends, wakeful nights and sleep in shifts as part of a rolling rota. Day shifts are typically split between 7am-11pm, with sleeps ins as extra.

What is the role?
This service is the home of 27 residents, all with individual personalities and different support needs including some with dementia.
The team here you will take a person-centred approach with our valued residents to ensure they are living their life to the fullest. You will support with day-to-day independence, enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities as well as providing emotional support and personal care.

You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:
Medication administration Supporting with individuals’ hobbies and activities Being a team player and having good communication skills Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard Supporting individuals to budget finances Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence. Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working Supporting Individuals with their individual needs What skills and experience do you need?
A background of working with older people with dementia is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are;
A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player Leadership and motivational skills QCF Level 2 and be prepared to complete Level 3 A full UK driving licence is not essential, however please be mindful that due to shift times and location of the service public transport is not the most reliable and you will have a commitment to get yourself to and from work for your agreed shift times.
