Brodawel Residential Home is looking for a Care Assistant to provide care and support for older adults living with a dementia. You will be required to carry out duties to support residents in a dignified and respectful manner, promoting independence and wellbeing and adopt a person centred approach.
Experience of working with older people would be beneficial although not essential. You must have knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care e.g. dignity and choice. You must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess clear understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of the post and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.
The post is Fixed Term to 31 st August 2024 at which point it will be reviewed with the potential to extend.
Approximate times of shifts are 7-2.30pm and 2.30-10pm over a 7 day week.
It is essential that applicants are in receipt of / working towards Level 2 in care (Previously known as NVQ 2) or a willingness to achieve the qualification within a specified timeframe.
For the role, we ask that you have: - Knowledge of principle that underpin quality care, e.g. dignity, choice, etc.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly including weekends, bank holidays and sleep in duties.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants. This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The Social Care Wales (Registration) Rules 2023 set out the requirement for all residential childcare workers, domiciliary care workers, adult care home workers, residential family centre workers to be registered with Social Care Wales within six months from your start date in post.
