• Lead on all qualifying and post-qualifying social work development programmes.
• As part of the overall comprehensive staff development and training service to Social Care employees, co-ordinate; develop; deliver and evaluate a range learning and development opportunities across all levels of staff in Adults and Children’s services which align with both Corporate and

Departmental objectives.
• To develop effective inter-agency, multi-disciplinary and whole sector relationships and initiatives in order to help meet these objectives.
• Work in partnership with regional stakeholders including Authorities; Health and other organisations
• Manage aspects of the allocated Social Care Workforce Development Programme budgets.
• Support the Workforce Development Unit’s wider activities by participating in other programmes and training as required and promote and represent the work of the service with all partner agencies.
• Lead on safeguarding training and provide advice and guidance as required.

In addition to our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub, we have targeted family support services which are co-located with our safeguarding hubs, to provide a continuum of services ranging from early help to intensive provision to families with complex needs. Our Safeguarding teams are located in three community based hubs around the borough. We also have teams who offer expertise in relation to Children with Disabilities & Transition, Young People aged 16+ who are entitled to leaving care services and fostering/in house residential services.

You would be responsible for overseeing our 3 safeguarding hubs

You would be joining us at a time when we have implemented the Outcome Focused Social Work model. We are looking to recruit an experienced manager who could embed the practice, and drive forward continuous improvements and developments in this area of service.
